So I’ve taken all of the hassle out of the organization process and created three separate Illustrator libraries, one for each pictograph style. Further, no single resource from NPS has all of the available symbols in a single location. However, none of these resources provide that “always at hand” simplicity that can be gained by organizing their symbol sets into an Adobe Illustrator Symbol Library. These include PDF files, True Type fonts, and ESRI style sheets for ArcGIS.
All objects using that fill color are selected, and you can quickly change the fill.Many of the icons that the US National Park Service uses on their official park maps are available in various formats from the Harpers Ferry Center website. Click on one object with that attribute, then go to Select > Same > Fill Color. Say you want to change a fill color that's been applied to both text and shapes. When you need to make global changes to object attributes, such as stroke or fill color, using Select Same is very efficient. Change All: Changes all occurrences in the file. Replace & Find: Changes the selected instance and finds the next one. Replace: Changes the selected instance, and then you need to click Find Next to go to the next occurrence. Find Next: Skips the selected instance and finds the next occurrence. Click Find and the first instance will be selected in the project. With your cursor at the end of the name, click the Special Character menu to the right of the Replace With field and choose Copyright Symbol. 
Check Match Case, and type the brand name into the Find and Replace With fields. Let's say there's a brand name that you need to add a copyright symbol (©) to.
Find and Replace can be used for more than word substitution. Pay attention to the options in the dialog box. To find and change text, go to Edit > Find and Replace. There are also Select Same functions that are useful when changing the attributes of objects.
